GALA EVENING - 17 May 2008
Our next event on our calendar will be a formal evening
...our CFF Gala (info in the flyer)
We're very excited to be able to enjoy the elegant surrounds of
The Pavilion (it's usually fully booked for stylish weddings but
all ours Saturday May 17th !) Be sure not to miss this
wonderful treat, which includes a buffet dinner & dessert,
dancing and hearing from Tim Hanna (formerly Senior Pastor at
Gateway Baptist and now National Director, Church & Mission,
Compassion Australia) our dinner speaker.
This is a pre-ticketed event, so please send your cheques
payable to "CFF" to our PO Box (rsvp by 2/5/08) as well as
mobile no (or land line) for receipt text confirmation
OR take advantage & pay cash at the Variety Celebrations evening
on Sat 19th April or Ambrose Golf on Sun 20th April.

TRIVIA NIGHT EVENING - November 2007
On
Saturday 17th November 2007 about 90 people gathered at Gateway
Baptist church. It was CFF's third Trivia night and by all
accounts was a very successful evening. Everyone enjoyed a yummy
BBQ meal & were then ready to battle for the cup & title 'Trivia
Champs'.
Barry Van Peppen* was our trivia host for the evening & kept us
all laughing & thinking through the six rounds of questions. In
between some rounds there were raffles & a chance to mix n
mingle with the crowd (including celebrities). Our fancy dress
theme of "Night with the Stars" meant we had celebs like Marilyn
Munroe, Elvis, stars from TV series House; sports stars … thanks
to all those who dressed up & joined in the fun (& apologies I
forgot to award prizes for it). A big thank you also to Andrew
Peachey * who donated the amazing art work which was auctioned
on the night.
In the end, the team "Beautiful Minds" edged out the close
competition & claimed the title, trophy & prize hamper. We
welcome them back next year to defend their title.

GALA DINNER - June 2007
This year
CFF held its formal Gala evening in the Function Room at Easts
Leagues Club, Coorparoo on Saturday 16th June.
Over 70
Christian singles (from as far north as Mooloolaba & as far
south as the Gold Coast & Toowoomba) dressed up for the special
evening and everyone looked fantastic.
There was
plenty of chatter over the delicious three course meal & Trevor
Lawrence (our guest speaker from Melbourne) challenged us in our
journey to be one hundred percent genuine in our faith walk and
our interactions with others.
Later in
the evening there was time to do some dancing and meet some
other people over coffee. Leaders from other Christian groups
were introduced & an info table about other events offered
around Brissie was also available to help people get connected
into the Christian community.
The
evening was a great success due in no small part to all those
who attended, prayed and got involved in the fun & fellowship of
the evening. We look forward to another wonderful evening next
year (probably in May).
